By which I mean something out of the old black and white Universal era. For me, it has to be Dracula. Bela Lugosi's performance as the count is, in my opinion, still unmatched to this day. There's a reason why we all know that stereotypical "vampire voice", and that's because Lugosi left one hell of an impression!

One interesting one is the Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954) and originally filmed in 3D.
Dracula (Lugosi) definitely sets the bar. I will say that, Claude Rains did an excellent job back in 1933 to show true madness on film. And the Invisible Man could be such a scary character. I don't think he has truly be given the right story to bring pure terror to the audiences.
